Bioprinting
This is the first collection of textiles that was dyed by the pigments of bacteria. A certain bacteria taken from the grassroots such as tarragon, sage and oregano has the capacity to produce different colors as a byproduct of their metabolic activity. It also demonstrates the potential of using living organisms to create less environmentally damaging materials and protocols. These pieces of silk were folded into a Petri Dish while the bacterials prints were grown onto the scarf.
